Our Vision
Providing opportunities today for excellence tomorrow!
Our Philosophy
To support and enhance the instructional and educational goals of the Berrien County School System.
Goals:
- To insure all students easy access to educational media by providing a school media center, the function of which is to locate, acquire, coordinate, and distribute learning materials.
- To help students become skillful and discriminating users of audio-visual, print, and non-print materials and media.
- To promote the use of the media center as an integral part of the school and to promote its use as a necessary and meaningful aspect of the students’ educational process.
The Berrien High School Media Center serves approximately 800 students in grades 9-12. The media center is open from 7:30 am - 4:00 pm each day. Students are allowed to come to the media center at any time during the day, but we do require passes from teachers. We collaborate with our teachers to provide lessons in the media center.
The media center is home to over 14,000 books, video tapes, CDs, DVDs and equipment. The staff consists of a full time media specialist and paraprofessional. Twelve computers are available for student use, all of which are connected to Destiny (the library catalog) and the Internet. Students are only allowed to use the computers for academic use.
